Road Murals
Do you have a community that needs some extra space for gatherings, parties, or for kids to play? Streets are a great place to look for more space to reclaim for communities! Road murals help indicate that a street is a shared space and serves multiple functions. Streets that are good candidates for road murals are generally slower-speeds with low traffic volumes. Road murals help bring color and fun at a very large scale. Typically, road murals span from curb to curb, with an artist collaborating with the community to ensure that the mural is representative of its culture. These murals are a great way to give the neighborhood a place to gather and play!

Road murals work best when they are designed from start to finish with input from the community.
Street Calming

A crosswalk design that extends the curb, decreases the turning radius, and daylights the intersection. Conceptual design by Place&
Street calming (or traffic calming) is a specific way of modifying the design of a street. Street calming aims to solve a problem like excessive speeds, stop-sign compliance, or poor pedestrian visibility. Street calming comes in many forms, but it usually has vertical elements like planting containers or temporary curbs. Some common types of street calming include curb extensions, small scale roundabouts, daylighting, and enhanced crosswalks.
